The Guqin: A Healing Resonance

The Guqin, an ancient seven-stringed zither, has long been revered as the "Instrument of the Sages". More than mere music, its tones guide the listener toward harmony—between body, mind, and the cosmos.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the Guqin’s five tones (Gong, Shang, Jue, Zheng, Yu) resonate with the Five Elements, each nurturing a corresponding organ:

  • Gong (Earth) → Spleen
  • Shang (Metal) → Lungs
  • Jue (Wood) → Liver
  • Zheng (Fire) → Heart
  • Yu (Water) → Kidneys

In Sherry’s healing sessions, the Guqin is a therapeutic companion. Its melodies are carefully chosen to restore balance—easing tension, calming the mind, and harmonising the body’s energy flow. Whether paired with acupuncture or meditation, each note becomes a gentle invitation: to rest, to release, and to return home to oneself.
